The Client

Founded in 2018, Prometeo’s API platform connects digital banking products for financial institutions involved in open banking. Its presence in nine LatAm countries has led to partnerships with more than 33 Latin financial institutions.


The Challenge

When Prometeo reached out to Publicize in October 2019, open banking was a new fintech solution to LatAm markets that were not yet flexible enough to adopt it. Additionally, the fintech solutions provider needed to educate its Latin American audience on the benefits of open banking, steering the narrative away from concerns around the cybersecurity of digital banking. 

Prometeo asked Publicize to build a B2B communications strategy that alleviated the LaTam market’s open banking concerns while simultaneously growing Promteo’s brand reputation.


The Solution

To establish Prometeo as the number fintech solutions provider to the LatAm market, we adopted a two-stage brand awareness and thought leadership approach. 

We began by outlining Prometeo’s mission so that we could clearly communicate its value proposition to a new market. Our account management team then identified a roster of prominent fintech and cybersecurity publications that would maximize the exposure of Prometeo’s announcements to its target audience. After this, our existing connections to LatAm tech journalists helped secure media coverage around Open Banking’s importance to LatAm businesses and consumers alike. This brought significant exposure and referral traffic to Prometeo as a result.

After gaining valuable earned media in these publications, our team of specialized fintech writers began crafting guest articles around Open Banking as a risk-diminishing alternative to online banking. We educated LaTam audiences on the benefits of open banking while dispelling misconceptions around its safety.
